I am a joint postdoctoral associate in Jesús N. Pinto-Ledezma lab at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (UMN) and Paul Moorcroft lab at Harvard University. I recently completed my PhD in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior (EEB) at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities advised by Allison Shaw and John Fieberg. Before that, I completed a BA in Statistics at the University of Minnesota, Morris.
My research focuses on using mathematical and statistical methods to identify the factors that drive organisms to move and the consequences of these movements. I combine analytic and simulation models to achieve this. In my postdoctoral work, I will explore the mechanisms driving changes in partial migratory strategies among North American birds.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of movement ecologists around the world through several fellowships (NSF INTERN, Smithsonian Fellow, UMN Doctoral Dissertation Fellow, and others). I am currently collaborating with researchers in the GIS lab at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute and the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior.
Note: I will begin a joint postdoctoral position at UMN and Harvard University in the fall of 2024! :)
